Be Good to Your Valentine

Foods That Say "I Love You!"

Dinner for Two

"What is Valentine's Day without strawberries?" says Joni of Round Rock, Texas. "It would be like Thanksgiving without a turkey!"

When asked to name a food associated with Valentine's Day, most would probably say strawberries. Instead of using strawberries in the dessert, why not make them part of your main course? strawberry salsa combines the sweetness of strawberries with the hotness of jalapenos – a wonderful combination! The salsa is great on grilled chicken breasts or broiled pork chops. Serve with a Caesar or garden salad, crescent rolls and oven-roasted asparagus. Since you used the strawberries in your main dish, try white chocolate cheesecake for dessert. You can garnish the cheesecake with a few slices of strawberry, if you wish.

Dinner for More than Two

Valentine's Day can also be wonderful if you have more than one person to cook for, and they do require a highchair, bib or booster chair. "Around here Valentine's Day is a family event," says Melissa of San Diego, Calif. "The kids and my husband help me prepare dinner, then we all sit down together and have a great time. One day we'll get those dinners for two but now my husband and I are very happy with our dinners for four."
