Spirits of the Season
Non-alcoholic Drinks for the Mom-to-be

The classic Southern drink without the alcohol.
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup cold water
1/2 cup lemon juice
5 fresh mint leaves
3/4 to 1 quart ginger ale
Combine the sugar, water and lemon juice in a bowl. Stir in the mint leaves and allow to sit at room temperature for one hour.
Fill a large pitcher with ice. Pour the mixture over the ice, then top off with the ginger ale. Serve.
Mock Sangria
1/2 gallon grape juice
2 cups orange juice
2 cans lemon-lime soda
1 orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
1 jar cocktail cherries, drained
In a large pitcher, stir together grape juice, orange juice and lemon-lime soda. Add orange slices, lemon slices
and cherries. Serve over ice. Serves six.
Santa's Sangria
1 cup grape juice
1/2 cup orange juice
1 cup lemon-lime carbonated drink
1 tablespoon maraschino cherry juice, optional
Cherries and orange slices, for garnish
Combine the grape juice, orange juice, lemon-lime soda and maraschino cherry juice, if using, in a pitcher. Add some cherries and orange slices. Mix well. Serve over ice.
