Aunt Bee's Mayberry Cookbook
A Review
By Donna Smith
Some of Mayberry's strange and unusual dishes are also included. How does Hogette Winslow's Hogshead Cheese sound? Or Rodney Darling's Blackened Pig, which calls for one medium to large pig, one medium-size house and matches? Barbecued Raccoon anyone? And who could forget Aunt Bee's famous Kerosene Cucumbers.
Don't cook? Don't worry! This book also contains wonderful nostalgic photos of the show, as well as stories and dialogues. This book is just as fun to read as it is to cook with. Aunt Bee's Mayberry Cookbook is a wonderful addition to anyone's cookbook collection. Who best to help you with down-home Southern recipes than Aunt Bee? But if Aunt Bee heard that, I'm sure she'd say the same thing as she did when Opie and Andy praised her cooking: "Flibbertigibeet!"
