| Tips for Grilling Success - Start the coals early! Stack the charcoal in the center and coat with lighter fluid. If using wood chips, place them on top of the charcoal. Wait a few minutes for the lighter fluid to soak in the charcoal, then ignite. Let the charcoal heat up for about 30 minutes before beginning to grill.
- To prevent sticking, coat the grill with oil. For items like shrimp, cut slits in a piece of aluminum foil and place it on the grill.
- If possible, marinate the meat at least 24 hours for best flavor, but as little as four hours will add a great flavor.
- Cook more than you will need and freeze for a great meal another day. Grilled meats freeze very well.
- Clean your grill with a wire brush after each grilling. This will make your job much easier the next time you're ready to grill!
