Choose Your Drinks Wisely
It's easy to drink hundreds of extra calories if you're not careful about what you choose. Most alcoholic drinks contain between 150 and 250 calories each and a glass (8 ounces) of eggnog has more than 300 calories. Try a diet soda, spritzer or good old water – all have few to no calories.

Stay Active
Get activity any way you can. You do not have to make a huge time commitment. That means dedicating 20 to 30 minutes each day to doing anything active. Walk at the mall or around your neighborhood, join a community exercise class, shovel snow, vacuum with a purpose but just get yourself moving! Recruit your family, friends and kids to join in. You will not only be managing your weight but also relieving stress! You will feel great and be more likely to remain focused.

Throw Your Own Party
Whether you are hosting a dinner or an hors d'oeuvre party, you should include food from all the food groups. You will likely have a more attractive table and control the fat and calories, especially if you are careful about how the food is prepared.
