The Perfect Picnic
Strategies to Make Your Picnic a Success
By Meenakshi Agarwal
Sandwiches: Sandwiches are always a party favorite. Let's face it, they're simple to make, easy to carry around and everyone loves a good bite of bread! Try and have a good selection from which your guests can choose. It's always a good idea to serve at least one chicken or turkey, meat and a vegetarian option. Creating a deli bar with assorted veggies, meats, sauces and seasonings is also a nice way to encourage guests to mingle and create their own sandwiches.
While these are some of the most commonly preferred items we tend to carry along for our picnics, there are a lot of options for those of us who want to kick it up a notch. It would be wise to stick to a certain theme when planning the menu. This way you ensure the food complements each other without being too diverse.
Whatever you may decide to serve your guests, always remember to take it light and have fun, and don't fret if something does go wrong, like the grill catches fire or you forgot the ketchup! Just make sure you laugh it off and move on to better things. After all, the best times are often those we laugh over a few years later.
