Let's Have a Cookout!

Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
2 ounces (1/2 cup) crumbled bleu cheese
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons salsa
4 hamburger buns, split
4 slices Colby-Monterey Jack cheese

Heat grill. In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, bleu cheese, chili powder, salt and pepper; mix well. Shape mixture into four half-inch-thick patties.

In a small bowl, combine barbecue sauce and salsa; blend well and set aside. When ready to grill, place patties on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals. Cook 11 to 13 minutes or until patties are thoroughly cooked, turning and brushing once with barbecue sauce mixture.

To toast buns, place cut side down on grill during last one to two minutes of cooking time. Place one slice of cheese on each patty and cook an additional minute or until cheese is melted. Place topped patties in buns. Makes four burgers.

Ellie's Baked Beans
Growing up in the South, I've tasted many different homemade baked-bean recipes over the years, but none tasted as good to me as Bush's canned, onion-flavored baked beans. That is, until now. When we visited my mother-in-law over the Easter holiday, she served my family these incredible beans. Not a bean lover, my daughter didn't like them. However, my husband and I both agreed that these beans were indeed the absolute best baked beans we'd ever eaten. They're simply scrumptious and they're so easy to make.

This is a great recipe to keep on hand for those occasions that require you to bring a covered dish. Bet you won't have many leftovers!

Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar were recently named Parents of the Year by a non-profit organization. Do you think they deserve this title?

Yes! Anyone who can handle 18 kids deserves it!
Maybe. They seem like good parents but having more kids doesn't make you better at it.
No! It's hard enough to be parents to one child, much less 18.
