Michelle's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

December 22, 1999

This is actually turning out to be a wonderful holiday for us. My husband will be home later tonight and stay until after Christmas, the kids are out of school as of today until the New Year and the turkey is in the refrigerator waiting to get cooked on Christmas Day.

I have been playing "rewrap the presents" for several days now. Instead of taking them to my storage unit like I wanted to this year, I brought them straight home, wrapped them and stuck them under the tree. I thought they would be old enough this year to wait until Christmas morning, but no such luck with these guys. I have been keeping my daughter until a watchful eye, she is the worst of the bunch. She already knows what some of her gifts are because she was snooping, and now is trying to figure out which ones are hers. Just a few more days and the suspense will be over.

I have been really good this last week, watching what I have eaten and exercising when I get the chance. I am horrible during the winter months about wanting to get out from under those warm blankets until I have to. So when I stepped up on the scale this morning I found that I have lost 4 pounds. I hadn't stepped on it for quite some time, so I don't know how long it took me to lose it, but I don't miss it a bit. So I have done something good so far and won't feel so bad if I gain a pound or two back.

I even tried some cookie recipes from the site and they were delicious. I love peanut butter, even though it is one of my no-no foods from my doctor. I have been baking so much that I need a vacation. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!

Tip of the week: When placing cooled cookies and cakes in a storage container, be sure to let the air out of the container by holding down and lifting on a small portion of the lid until it collapses fully. This will allow the goodies to stay soft and fresh.
