I've heard pasta sauce called "gravy" and "sauce." What's the difference?
In my opinion, sauce for pasta has no meat in it. It can be oil and garlic, pesto, tomato sauce for fish, marinara and the like. It becomes gravy once meat (meatballs/sausage, etc.) is put in – just like gravy made from a pot roast.
