Expert Q&A

By Cynthia Lair
Nutritionist

My son received a bag of papaya spears for Christmas. The instructions on the bag say to cut them into small pieces. He doesn't like them. Do you have a recipe that I can use these in, or suggestions on what to do with them?

You can cut the papaya spears into very small pieces and use like raisins or other dried fruit in cookies, quick breads or fruitcakes. You can add them to fruit smoothies for extra sweetness and tropical flavor (blend until they are completely pureed)."
