Expert Q&A

What is the difference between a marinara sauce and a pasta sauce?

Marinara sauce is without meat and cooked for a short time with a lot of fresh basil. Pasta sauce is just a name people gravitated to when referring to the sauce that's put on top of macaroni (pasta is an Italian word). When the sauce has meat in it, it is gravy, because the meat makes it so."
