I'm 37 weeks pregnant and have been walking about a 1/2 mile to a mile a day. Lately when I walk I will get a bad cramp on the right side of my belly and I have to stop to catch my breath. I've asked my doctor about this and he just said it was a cramped muscle but I don't know. Do you have any insight on this?

I'm 31 weeks pregnant and I experience abdominal cramps when I walk fast. When I walk slowly the pain goes away. I feel the same cramp when I dance to vigorously. I just adjust by walking slower, and making sure I don't eat to close to when I exercise. You can also ask you doctor about the possibility of a fibroid that my be getting irritated when you exercise. That has also been my case in the earlier weeks of my pregnancy. I suggest you experiment with other forms or exercise like stationery biking. You may not feel the cramp. I'm sorry that I couldn't help you more."
