Expert Q&A

What is the best time of the day to exercise?
This question is best answered by asking a few questions:
- What time of day do you feel most alert and motivated?
- When does exercise fit most conveniently in your day?
- Do you like to wake up early or are you a night owl?
- Does a session of evening exercise rev you up and keep you from falling asleep at night?
- Do you have a difficult time motivating yourself to exercise later in the day?
All of these questions are important, as your answers to them will determine what time of day is best for YOU to exercise. No matter what a study may say about the benefits of exercising at a certain time of day, if that time doesn't work for your lifestyle you won't be including fitness in your day. Set up your exercise session at a time that fits well in your schedule, when you feel most alert and when you're less apt to find other excuses not to exercise!"
