I've heard that eating something that has natural fat after drinking carrot juice or eating carrots can help you absorb the vitamin A. Is that true?
Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin, which means that your body needs dietary fats to properly absorb it. However, as long as your diet contains an adequate amount of fat (cholesterol free, unsaturated fats are best), it isn't necessary to worry about consuming it at the same time as eating foods that are high in vitamin A. Carrots contain beta carotene, which is actually a precursor to vitamin A. Your body will convert this beta carotene to vitamin A based on its needs. Though you can overdose on vitamin A supplements, you need not worry about overdosing on plant-derived vitamin A precursors.
