Is chicken breast OK to eat on a low-fat diet?
There are misconceptions that meat is high fat and should be excluded from one's low-fat eating plan. This is incorrect. For a variety of food, taste, texture and nutrients in your every day eating plan, meat is an essential source of iron, and there are many low-fat cuts (often the cheaper ones). Check with your butcher. Broil or braise these meats.
Chicken breast without the skin is also OK (broil or roast or pan fry with very little oil in non stick frying pan, not deep fried), but don't forget about pork and fish as well. They add variety, flavor and interest to your meals and help to make your new way of eating permanent and gradual rather than a drastic change in eating that will only be short lived.
