What can I add to my toddler's oatmeal to make it a little more exciting without adding fat?

There are lots of yummy additions for oatmeal. Dried fruit are wonderful. Try raisins, golden raisins, dried cranberries, chopped dried apricots or chopped dried dates. Applesauce is also a good sweetener. Add about 1/3 cup per cup of oatmeal. Besides sugar, sweeteners like maple syrup and Sucanat are also great on oatmeal.
Dried fruit can be a choking hazard for small children, so cut into small pieces and never leave your child unattended!
