Are sugared cereals unhealthy?
Sugared cereals are not harmful as long as your child eats a healthy diet overall. You must realize that nutrition is relative. For example, if all he wants to eat for breakfast are sugary cereals, then let him. Any breakfast is better than none. By the same token, it won't hurt to keep offering lower sugar cereals topped with fruit, or mixing a high sugar cereal with a low sugar choice. The one objection I do have to high sugar cereals is that they lack fiber, which is an important nutrient for children.
