Are there any foods you absolutely cannot freeze?
Freezing does change the texture and nutrient value of food. This is because the water content of the food changes to ice and when the ice thaws the foods loses what once made it moist. So foods like watery vegetables do not freeze well -- they end up limp and tasteless when thawed. Grain dishes, such as rice, kasha, and polenta do not freeze well. Exceptions include bread, bread crumbs and noodle casseroles. If you cook fish and then freeze it, when it thaws, the texture is unappealing. The exception to this is shellfish.
