Strawberry Cream Cheese Cookies
Donna Smith
Ingredients
1 cup butter, at room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 package (3 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 egg yolk, at room temperature
2 1/2 cups flour
Strawberry preserves
Directions
Cream together the butter, sugar and cream cheese. Add the vanilla and egg yolk and mix well. Blend in the flour, then chill the dough for about one hour.
Shape into 1-inch balls, and using your thumb, press a hole into the center of each cookie.
Fill the hole with about 1/4 teaspoon of the strawberry preserves. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 10 to 11 minutes. Remove from the cookie sheet when done and let them completely cool.
Suggestions
Don't like strawberry? Use a flavor of preserves that you like, such as apricot, peach or fig.
