Creamy Asparagus Dip
Ingredients
1 pound fresh asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 to 1 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon dried dill
Dash of hot sauce, optional
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons slivered almonds
Directions
Cook the asparagus in boiling, salted water until tender, about five minutes. Drain well and add to a bowl.
Add the 1/2 cup of sour cream, dill and hot sauce, if using. With an electric mixer, whip until smooth, adding more sour cream if necessary to reach desired consistency.
Spoon into a serving bowl and garnish with the slivered almonds.
Suggestions
Serve with raw vegetables or crackers.
