Pears and Plums
Chef Geoff Tracy, co-author of Baby Love Purees (St. Martin's Press, May 2010)
Ingredients
3 Bartlett pears
1 cup dried plums (prunes)
8 ounces water
Directions
Peel pears, cut in quarters and remove seeds. Combine pears, dried plums and water in pot with lid. Turn heat to high and allow to steam for five minutes. Puree in blender until completely smooth. Pour into ice cube tray and freeze 24 hours. Thaw before serving.
Suggestions
Chef's Note: This creates a rich brown puree. It almost looks like chocolate. It is sticky and sweet. The kids love it.
