Slow-cooked Applesauce
Ingredients
3 pounds apples (Granny Smith work well), peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
Directions
In your Crock Pot, combine the apples, brown sugar and lemon juice. Cook on high for three to four hours. Mash with a potato masher into the consistency you desire. Stir in cinnamon.
Suggestions
You can serve this hot, at room temperature or cold. This is great over vanilla ice cream!
