| Flaxseed Bread |
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1 3/4 cups warm water 1/8 cup sugar 1 tablespoon oil 1 cup ground flaxseed (grind in blender or food processor) 3 cups whole wheat flour Dash of salt |
Dissolve the yeast in warm water. Set aside for about 5 minutes to activate the yeast.
In a mixing bowl, combine the sugar, oil, ground flaxseed, yeast and half of the flour. Mix well. Continue adding the remaining flour until it makes a soft dough. Knead dough about 10 minutes, then place in a oiled pan. Shape into a loaf, cover, and let rise until doubled. Bake at 350 degrees F about 40 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool about 5 minutes and then remove from pan. |
