| 8 slices bread, cut diagonally 12 eggs 2 cups milk 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom, optional 1 teaspoon lemon zest 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla |
| Grease a 13x9x2-inch baking dish. Arrange the bread slices in
the dish so they overlap. In a large bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, spices, lemon zest, sugar and vanilla. Pour egg mixture over bread. Cover the baking dish and refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake, uncovered, for 30-35 minutes, or until golden and fluffy. |
