Cinnamon Cookies

A cookie for cinnamon lovers!
Ingredients
2 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
Directions
Combine the flour, cream of tartar, cinnamon, salt and baking soda in a bowl. In another bowl, cream together the shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients to the creamed until completely incorporated. Chill the dough for at least one hour.
When ready to bake, roll the dough into balls, then roll in a mixture of 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Place on cookie sheets and bake at 350 degrees F for nine to 11 minutes.
Suggestions
Great right out of the oven with a steaming cup of creamy hot chocolate.
