Crock Pot Turkey
Kathy Bouchard
iParenting's Teacher of the Month shares a favorite recipe!
Ingredients
1 5-pound (or a little bigger) turkey breast
1 can cranberries, or 1 cup cranberry juice
1 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon rosemary
Directions
Place the turkey breast (unstuffed) in the Crock Pot. Cook on low for approximately five hours. Turn up to high for another hour or so. (This is the part that I don't typically measure I just know when it's done.)
Yes, the juice looks a little weird being purple, but it doesn't turn the meat colors. In fact, you can even make a gravy from the drippings. It's a sweet gravy and definitely a different taste, but it's good!
Suggestions
"This is one I start on low when I leave for school, and turn it up to high when I get home and finish cooking," says Bouchard. "Usually my turkey is a little bigger than pounds also. I do a lot of 'eyeball and taste' cooking. It hasn't failed me yet!"
