| Christmas Avalanche Cookies by Melissa Tokarczyk |
![]() This recipe will make approximately 100 cookies! |
| 2 cups of butter 1 teaspoon of salt 2 cups of sugar 2 teaspoons of baking powder 2 cups of brown sugar 2 teaspoons of baking soda 4 eggs 4 ounces chocolate chips 2 teaspoons of vanilla 1 bar (8 ounces) Hershey's Chocolate Bar, grated 4 cups of flour 3 cups of chopped pecans 5 cups of oatmeal (blended finely in blender) |
| Cream the butter and mix in both kinds of
sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix in the flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and
baking soda until all ingredients are nicely blended. Add chocolate chips,
grated chocolate and pecans, then roll into balls and place them 2 inches apart
on a cookie sheet. Bake for 6 minutes at 375 degrees F. |
||
| Place the cookie balls on a large platter,
stacked in as high a pile as you can get them. Tell your guests to choose their
cookies carefully, as taking the wrong cookie can cause them all to come
crashing off the tray like an avalanche! |
