| Homemade Fudge by Marie-Helen Goyetche |
| 3 cups sugar 3/4 cup margarine 2/3 cup evaporated milk 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips 7 ounces marshmallow crème 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) |
| Mix sugar, margarine, and milk in a heavy
2.5-quart saucepan until it comes to a full boil, stirring constantly. Continue
boiling 5 minutes over medium heat or until candy thermometer reaches 234
degrees F. It's important to stir constantly to prevent scorching. Take off the
stove and stir in chips until they're all melted. Add marshmallow creme,
vanilla and nuts, if desired. Mix well. Pour into a greased 9x13-inch pan. Cool
at room temperature, cut into squares and serve. |
