| The classic southern drink without the alcohol. |
| 1/2 cup sugar 1 cup cold water 1/2 cup lemon juice 5 fresh mint leaves 3/4 to 1 quart ginger ale |
| Combine the sugar, water and lemon juice in a bowl.
Stir in the mint leaves and allow to sit at room temperature for one hour. Fill a large pitcher with ice. Pour the mixture over the ice, then top off with the ginger ale. Serve. |
