Cha Siu (Chinese Roast Pork)
Jeannie Lit
Our Mom of the Month shares a family favorite!
Ingredients
1/3 cup hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon Asian sesame oil
1 1/2 ounces minced garlic
1 1/2 ounces minced ginger
6 pounds pork tenderloins
Directions
Mix all the ingredients except the pork in a big bowl. Add the pork and mix it together again. Refrigerate, covered, at least three hours or up to eight hours to marinate. Remove the pork from the marinade and keep the excess.
Place the roast pork on a baking tray or pan. Pre-heat the oven and then bake it at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until cooked, turning and basting occasionally with the reserved marinade. Let it cool off and then cut into thin slices.
Suggestions
Serve with fried rice and your favorite steamed vegetable.
