Apple Cole Slaw
Ingredients
2 apples, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup water
3 cups shredded cabbage
2 ribs celery, chopped
2 carrots, grated
3 green onions, chopped
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup mayonnaise
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
Soak the sliced apples in the lemon juice and water to prevent browning. Drain and pat dry. Combine with the cabbage, celery, carrot and chopped onion.
In another bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, salt and pepper. Pour over slaw and mix. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Suggestions
Serve with fried chicken and mashed potatoes. This dish is great to take on picnics and to potlucks too!
