Creamed Potatoes and Peas


4 medium red potatoes, cubed
1 package (10 ounces) frozen peas
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 ½ cups milk
2 tablespoons minced fresh dill, or 1 teaspoon dried
directions
Cover potatoes with water and cook until tender. Meanwhile, cook peas according to package directions, adding the sugar. Melt the butter in a saucepan; stir in flour, salt and pepper. Gradually add in milk and bring to a boil; boil for 1 minute. Add the dill and cook until thickened. Mix the sauce with the drained potatoes and peas.
