Creamy Baked Cabbage
Ingredients
1 head cabbage, cut up
2 tablespoons margarine
2 tablespoons flour
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese
1/2 cup crushed buttery crackers
Directions
Steam the cabbage until just tender, about 10 minutes. Drain well. Pour into a large bowl. Set aside.
In a saucepan, melt the margarine. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Slowly stir in milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add cheese and stir until melted. Pour over cabbage. Mix well.
Pour into a lightly greased baking dish. Sprinkle with the cracker crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes.
Suggestions
Great with corned beef, chicken or sausage.
