Honey Glazed Carrots


Tender carrots sweetened with honey and orange juice.

Ingredients

6 to 8 carrots, peeled and cut into rounds
2 teaspoons sugar
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons orange juice
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

Cook the carrots in boiling water until crisp-tender, about six to seven minutes. Drain, reserving 1/4 cup of the cooking liquid. Set carrots aside. In a saucepan, combine the reserved liquid, sugar, honey, orange juice, butter and salt. Bring to boil and cook about five minutes. Add the carrots and simmer an additional two minutes.

Suggestions

This sweet side dish is perfect with chicken, pork or beef.
