Apple Saturn Biscuit Circles
Recipe is from Snacktivities! by MaryAnn F. Kohl and Jean Potter
Ingredients
Ingredients:
Baking mix, such as Bisquick
1 apple, unpeeled
Butter, optional
Utensils:
Oven preheated to 425 degrees F or according to baking directions
Rolling pin
Doughnut cutter
Small melon ball scoop
Baking sheet
Oven mitts
Directions
1. Prepare biscuits according to package directions.
2. Roll out the biscuit dough with a rolling pin.
3. Cut the biscuits with a special "doughnut cutter." A doughnut cutter has a ring with a hole in the center.
4. Put the "doughnut" biscuits on a baking sheet.
5. Push the melon ball scoop into the apple and turn to scoop out apples.
6. Place the apple ball in the hole of the biscuit.
7. Place the apple biscuits in the oven and bake according to package directions, usually about eight minutes.
8. When they are baked, wear oven mitts and remove from the oven. Cool for a few minutes.
9. Place the apple biscuits on a serving plate. Serve with butter, if desired.
