French Raisin Toast


3 eggs, beaten
½ cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Dash of salt
8 slices raisin bread
Confectioner’s sugar or pancake syrup
directions
Preheat a griddle to medium or medium-high. In a shallow bowl, blend together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, nutmeg and salt. Dip each bread slice in the egg mixture, turning to coat both sides.

Lightly grease the griddle. Cook bread slices 4 to 6 minutes, or until deep golden brown. Turn after half the time.

suggestions
Sprinkle with the confectioner’s sugar or serve with syrup.
