Food Pyramid Rice Cakes
Candace Moore Hill

Nutrition education starts in kindergarten, but too often daily snacks are cookies, chips or cupcakes. When your child's teacher puts up the food pyramid chart, you can bring out the food pyramid snack.
Large rice cakes, plain or slightly sweet
Peanut butter
Raisins
Bananas
Platter and a knife
directions
Start with a rice cake and spread with peanut butter. Slice on some banana and sprinkle with raisins. You have just combined a carbohydrate with a protein and a fruit.

suggestions
Be prepared for some children to want a plain rice cake, or to want one with no fruit.
