Fruited Meat Balls
Meatballs in a tangy sauce made featuring blackberry wine!
Ingredients
Meatballs:
2 pounds lean ground beef
1 package dry onion soup mix
1/4 cup cracker crumbs
2 tablespoons melted margarine
1 egg
Salt and pepper
Sauce:
14 ounces ketchup
10 ounces apple jelly
1/2 cup blackberry wine
Directions
Combine the ground beef, dry onion soup mix, cracker crumbs, egg, salt and pepper. Shape into small meatballs.
Melt the butter in a skillet and cook the meatballs until browned. Remove and drain on paper towels.
To make the sauce, combine the apple jelly, ketchup and wine in a saucepan. Cook on low until jelly melts. Add the meatballs and simmer on low about 25 to 30 minutes.
Suggestions
To serve, place the meatballs in a warming dish or Crock Pot. Serve with toothpicks.
